Title:
PC Beep does not redirected to sound card at notebooks

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Ubuntu 11.04 and 12.04 at notebooks

  etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf said:

  # ugly and loud noise, getting on everyone's nerves; this should be done by a
  # nice pulseaudio bing (Ubuntu: #77010)
  blacklist pcspkr

At standard PC beeping produces standard system sound by sound card but at notebooks there is no beep neither using pcspkr nor using PulseAudio.

I test it at multiple ACER notebooks with the same result. Now I test it at Acer Extensa 5620Z

Mistakenly pressed navigation key in terminal, BEEP in LibreOffice Basic etc produses no sound
But (Sorry for non precise translation of menu items and names from Ukrainian) clicking the Sound properties applet, selecting the last menu item ( Sound Preferences ), opening the first tab (Sound Actions) and clicking on any sound in the list produces a sound at standard and notebook PCs.

  Thanks for a support
