Bug description:
  I have found on Unity 3D 3.6.8, that if you boot up the OS, start the
  software update utility and nothing is downloaded/updated, the ALT-F2
  run-command bar, the ubuntu-logo-search bar and applications button do
  not show any software installed. The Application button do not show
  anything (remains black and empty).
