I'm going to mark this a duplicate of bug #1365509 since that seems to
be the root of the problem-- krillin needs some hardware specific rules
that should be shipped via another means.

  Video thumbnails always fail in gallery-app

Bug description:
  com.ubuntu.gallery      2.9.1.1049

  Video thumbnails always fail to generate in the gallery app and the thumbnail crash with bug 1364475 or bug 1356331. The thumbnail is correctly generated in the video scope for the same video.
  It also affects video recorded by the camera

  TEST CASE:
  1. Download http://samplemedia.linaro.org/H264/tears_of_steel_1080p_H264_24fps.mov
  2. Copy it to /home/phablet/Videos with MTP (nautilus or gvfs-copy)
  3. Open the gallery-app
  4. Locate the video in the gallery and wait until the thumbnail is generated

  ACTUAL RESULT
  The thumbnail shows the generic video icon and the thumbnailer crashes
