so what seems to happen now (and this may be due to application flow changes)
is that the dailer app does return, but with the "contacts" selection view up.
So the applications are now swapping with the right edge.

  Impossible to switch between apps after using Qt.openUrlExternally().

Status in “unity8” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  If a given app (contacts-app for example) is launched from another app
  (dialer-app) using the Qt.openUrlExternally() method, it is then
  impossible to swipe between apps, and the same app (contacts-app in
  this case) is always brought to foreground instead.

  Steps to reproduce with dialer-app:

  1) make sure contacts-app is closed and then open dialer-app
  2) go to call log and tap any known contact
  3) tap "view contact" to bring the contacts-app to foreground
  4) try swiping from the right to bring the dialer-app back.

  Expected behavior:

  dialer-app is brought to foreground

  Current behavior:

  contacts-app is brought to foreground.

  Note that this bug is not reproducible if contacts-app is already open
  in background.
