[Bug 1365875] Re: mail notification displayed even when phone locked

 

I believe the plan was to have a setting in Privacy to strip the
notifications of sensitive data or disable them altogether when the
phone is locked.

You can already disable the indicators when locked, meaning that the
notification is only shown on screen for a few seconds, slightly
reducing the privacy impact of this bug.

It's something of a balance we need to hit, after all you probably
wouldn't like an incoming call's origin when locked.

Bug description:
  I had just woken up the phone (screen was displaying the welcome
  greeter) but had not yet unlocked the device (I have set a pin code)
  when a mail notification appeared on screen that divulged the sender.

  This is a privacy issue.
