Title:
MAC address cloning prevents connecting to WiFi network
Status in “wireless-tools” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Release: Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04.
When using the default wireless connection manager provided with
Ubuntu, using the MAC address cloning feature in conjunction with WPA2
encryption results in a failure to connect.
What I expected to happen: I would have no trouble connecting to a
wireless network
What happened instead: Ubuntu attempts to connect, but fails. On
Ubuntu 12.04, it keeps prompting for the passphrase repeatedly, even
though the one entered was correct. On Ubuntu 14.04, it simply gives
up.
