Title:
keys on the left column are hard to press

Status in “ubuntu-keyboard” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This is a long standing issue with the keyboard, no directly related
to a specific layout. Sensitivity on the left hand side appears to be
suspect. On the keyboard, and in some web apps, buttons etc on the
left seem to be hard to press.

'1', 'q' on an English layout, 'a' on a French layout, or with
predictive text, words on the very edge (left) take a few tries before
  begin able to select it.
