I haven't seen this kid of flickering in a while any more. If someone
sees this again, please reopen and let us know where it happens.

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  When running unity8 on the desktop, flicking through the music/video
  carousels makes the shell flicker a lot - this is never visible on the
  device, so it might be xcb-specific, still we should investigate.
