Looks like Audio is working, but PulseAudio is not, and the system does
not recognize me having a sound card installed via the System Settings.
However, I am getting sound when playing music.

  After installing the latest kernel (3.13.0-37), my soundcard is no
  longer showing up and sound is not working system-wide.  This was
  working fine on 3.13.0-36.
