  "No additional drivers available." after switching to open-source
  NVIDIA drivers

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  After switching in Ubuntu 14.04 from the tested proprietary NVIDIA
  driver to the nouveau open-source driver, all additional drivers
  disappear from "Additional drivers" tab in "Software & Updates".

  Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install NVIDIA proprietary drivers via "Software & Updates".

  2. Reboot.

  3. Switch to nouveau driver via "Software & Updates".

  4. Reboot.

  5. Check "Additional drivers" in "Software & Updates".

  6. "No additional drivers available."

  I'd like to be able to re-install the proprietary drivers via these
  means, as switching drivers did not have the intended effect.
