Title:
  Revision 3882 breaks some applications

Status in Unity:
  In Progress
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  according to http://standards.freedesktop.org/wm-spec/wm-
  spec-1.4.html#idm139915845231248

"A Client whose window has not yet been mapped can request of the
Window Manager an estimate of the frame extents it will be given upon
mapping. To retrieve such an estimate, the Client MUST send a
_NET_REQUEST_FRAME_EXTENTS message to the root window."

when sending such message unity seems to never respond which hangs any
application using this feature forever. This was working until last
update in ubuntu 14.10, somewhere around 16-20 oct 2014.

this has been noticed with latest GLFW:
