[Bug 1372847] Update Released

 

The verification of the Stable Release Update for glib2.0 has completed
successfully and the package has now been released to -updates.
Subsequently, the Ubuntu Stable Release Updates Team is being
unsubscribed and will not receive messages about this bug report.  In
the event that you encounter a regression using the package from
-updates please report a new bug using ubuntu-bug and tag the bug report
regression-update so we can easily find any regressions.

Bug description:
  We'd like to update glib2.0 using the GNOME MRE.

  Upstream have released a new stable, fixing some bugs.

  glib2.0 (2.40.2-0ubuntu1) UNRELEASED; urgency=medium

    * New upstream stable release, fixing bugs
      + gobject: try to link with -Wl,-z,nodelete to prevent unloading
      + g_file_copy: Don't set GError when we intend to ignore errors
      + gapplication-tool: ensure object paths are valid
      + gtlscertificate: fix certificate list parsing with trailing comments
      + g_str_has_prefix: improve efficiency with long strings
      + Added type check to GPermission public functions.
      + GApplication: Don't decrease use_count below 0
      + networkmonitornetlink: fix IPv6 issues on Android
      + gresolver: Ensure GThreadedResolver always sets an error if resolution
        fails
      + gmacros.h: add G_GNUC_*_IGNORE_DEPRECATIONS macros for clang
      + networkaddress: fix parsing of uri with @ after authority
      + gvariant tests: workaround libc/compiler "issue"

  Under the terms of the MRE, you can assume the bugs are fixed. I
  suggest installing the update and then using your system as normal for
  the 10 day verification time.

  [ Regression potential ]

  One of the fixes could be bad. This is the first stable in this series
  and is a new release, so hasn't had much testing on its own, even if
  all of the fixes are in the unstable release.
