[Bug 331961] Re: Muted sound level is forgotten after some time

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version (say 14.04).

Title:
Muted sound level is forgotten after some time

Status in “ubuntu-meta” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
If I press the Mute button on my laptop, sound gets muted. If I press
the Mute button again, the sound gets un-muted and returns to the
level it was before. If I wait a random amount of time before pressing
the Mute button the 2nd time, sound remains muted.

This is on Intrepid x86 with all the latest updates.

Please add any other packages relevant to this bug, as I have no clue
which ones might be responsible for this.
