Title:
Server routes via OpenVPN will be irgnored from the Client if NM is
usesd for configuration
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
If I do a OpenVPN client configuration via NM (manual or via import)
and the OpenVPN server send routes to the client, the client ignores
these routes.
e.g: Server openvpn.conf has:
push "route 10.10.0.0 255.255.0.0"
The client ignores it and routes all traffic (0.0.0.0/0) through the
VPN, not only the network 10.10.0.0/16.
Workaround: Setting explicit routes via the NM-applet for this VPN.
BTW: Setting up the OpenVPN direct (without NM-applet / GUI) in
/etc/openvpn/ then the pushed routes from the server are working.
