  custom shortcuts doesn't show up in dashboard

Bug description:
  if i edit the menus like clicking on 'edit menus' in the regular
  gnome, Those apps don't show up in unity. example would be the other
  day when i downloaded firefox beta from mozilla.com. i created a
  shortcut in the menus,  then when i logged into unity, it didn't show
  up in the 'dock' or the dashboard.
