Title:
update-initramfs ignoring plymouth-text theme files
Status in “initramfs-tools” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
"update-initramfs -v -u" doesn't pack
/lib/plymouth/theme/ubuntu-text/ubuntu-text.plymouth
into the initrd. Thus no text fallback if the framebuffer could not initialize, only a blank screen.
For other themes it is the same: libs (/lib/plymouth/*.so) are packed into the initrd, necessary theme files and scripts are missing.
I've seen this with initramfs from today for lucid:
DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=lucid
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS"
