Title:
gdb crashed with TypeError in write()

Status in “gdb” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gdb

I think this may have been triggered by trying to generate an apport
report for a crashed python program (usb-creator-gtk)?

Glancing at the traceback suggests this is a pretty shallow bug.
