closing this rather old issue. sorry for not addressing this earlier.
Please could you recheck with the recent 14.04 LTS or 14.10 releases and
reopen the issue if the problem persists?

Title:
gdb crashed with RuntimeError in to_string(): Cannot access memory at
address 0x8
Status in “gdb” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I was debugging my own program within KDevelop and KDevelop's
graphical debugger kept jumping between the two lines (yet there as no
loop). Then the crash happened.
Obviously, my program caused the crash, but gdb should not have
crashed. My program didn't even crash it.
