  I think  there is missing some quotation arround 'unkown' :
      version = RELEASE_CODENAME_LOOKUP.get(unknown, rinfo.get('suite',''))
  should be:
      version = RELEASE_CODENAME_LOOKUP.get('unknown', rinfo.get('suite',''))
  not sure - please check
