Bug description:
  Binary package hint: apparmor

AppArmor is writing corrupted audit messages to /var/log/messages,
  which crashes the aa-logprof tool.

The attached file contains the console output of a aa-genprof run and
the corrupted messages selected by visual inspection of
/var/log/messages. After copying /var/log/messages, and deleting the
messages listed in the attachment, aa-logprof was successfully
executed using the clean log file.

My system is a fresh install of Ubuntu 7.10. My sources.list only
contains the Ubuntu, Medibuntu and Canonical repositories, and all
software was installed from them, with the sole exception of
TrueCrypt, which was installed from the Gutsy .deb file available at
  www.truecrypt.org.
