Title:
OrientationHelper cannot be a root item
Status in Ubuntu UI Toolkit:
Confirmed
Status in “ubuntu-ui-toolkit” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
OrientationHelper cannot be a root item. That's a very unintuitive and
non-standard limitation which breaks the user's expectations. I don't
think I've ever seem a QML item with such a restriction. Likewise for
the hardcoded "anchors.fill: parent"
If you need a parent/child pair of items to get your work done you
should hide it inside your OrientationHelper. Ie., make
OrientationHelper be the "parent" and reassign its children to his
child that actually gets rotated (tweaking OrientationHelper default
property to be an alias of rotatedChild.children).
