This was fixed in vivid with http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~phablet-team
/webbrowser-app/trunk/revision/795, we might want to backport the fix to
14.09.

  URL bar text gets replaced on redirect

Status in “webbrowser-app” package in Ubuntu RTM:

Bug description:
  1. open browser app, it loads start.ubuntu.com
  2. tap on 'Ubuntu shop' text
  3 while its trying to open that page, quickly start typing into the address bar.

  What happens:
  the already written text in the address bar gets replaced by the new web page address.
