Title:
No password prompt is given after locking the screen

Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Hi,

occasionally when I lock my screen there is not prompt for entering the password presented. Therefore, I cannot unlock the screen anymore.
The only thing displayed is my Username in a frame, but not the username itself.

There are two ways to workaround the bug. Either rebooting the
maschine or suspending it(for which I used another bug in the pwer
management that enables me to suspend the maschine anyway). In the
latter case a new login screen is displayed, very often with a
  textfield to enter the password

Please notice that this is only one bug in a series of issues with
logging in in lightdm. I expect the issues to be interrelated and
therefore sugest to have a look on the other reports as well, which a
avaliable through my profile. I will provide direkt links later.

  cheers
