Those textfields are read-only. I think it is intentional (as requested
by design), that these textfields don't look like textfields any more.

Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  At some point in the development cycle, TextFields stopped rendering
  correctly on actual devices and in the emulator.

  Attached are two screenshots:

  desktop.png is what the textfield look like on the desktop, and
  emulator.png is what they look like on the emulator.
