I'm not sure who/where this should be fixed, but I can confirm that
TextArea does not have the right click menu spell check options either
using Ubuntu UI Toolkit nor the upstream's QtQuick.Controls.

Status in qtdeclarative-opensource-src package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Title say it all. There is no spellcheck like in normal Qt or GTK+
  applications when doing text input.

  Ubuntu already ships with some SDK apps -- e.g. Friends -- so please
  fix this for 14.04 as this is a major regression.
