  First few items in Carousel don't switch correctly

Bug description:
  If you tap alternately on the first two items in a Carousel, you can
  see when they pass each other, and there's a visual glitch.

  The reason for this is the fact that it doesn't wait for the
  previously focused item to go out of the way.
