  No Add/ Remove Feature in the top bar

Bug description:
  In Ubuntu 10.04, in the top bar, I can add / remove various items. For
  example I can add a small icon which will display temperature and a
  bit of weather report. I can allocate another area to display all open
  applications using which I can switch. I can rearrange all these small
  areas to my choice. In new version 11.10 all these useful features are
  missing!
