[Bug 1192547] Re: [REGRESSION] Desktop gone berserk. Can't drag&drop icons outside of a very small portion of screen. Switching screens fixes the issue
Ubuntu 12.10 reached end-of-life so it's no longer supported. Can you
still reproduce this bug on 14.04 (or laters)?

Title:
[REGRESSION] Desktop gone berserk. Can't drag&drop icons outside of a
very small portion of screen. Switching screens fixes the issue
Status in Unity:
Incomplete
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Starting from a few minutes ago, the desktop behaves as if the only usable area for icons was about 200-250 px wide.
If I try to drag an icon and drop it outside of that area (i.e., more to the right than that imaginary nonsense line), it sticks to within that area.
I am using an external monitor on a laptop, and occasionally
connect/disconnect it and switch between the external and builtin
screen, the former being wider. But needless to say, both are a lot
wider than 250 px.
Wow, switching monitors forth and back has made the issue go away.
