Currently using 14.04. Previously used 13.04 and 13.10. None of them

Title:
Mouseover highlight not working for dropdown lists and settings window
Status in Unity:
Incomplete
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I use Ubuntu 12.10. On cliking the icons in the system-tray, the
dropdown lists appear, Only that the active icons are not highlighted
on mouseover. This problem occurs in the system settings window as
well and is present irrespective of the device (mouse/touchpad) I use.
In addition to this, the icon that is supposed to be present in the
right corner of the sys-tray is absent.
