Title:
Unity in lockscreen mode does not allow password entry

Status in Unity:
  New
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Sometimes, when I come back to my computer after locking it, the
password field is not displayed. This means I cannot enter the
password, and I have to do an ungraceful shutdown of my X session.

It only happens when the workstation has been running for a while
(usually a few weeks) which leads me to suspect a memory leak, or
  similar.

The unlock dialog box appears, but the password field is not rendered.
