  problem in login keyboard layout

Status in console-setup package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: console-setup

  Ubuntu 9.04
  in the login screen, the input language is arabic and there is no way to change the keyboard layout to English, hence can not login.
  th solution is by changing the keyboard layout to US as below
   XKBLAYOUT="us"
