Message #58792
[Bug 1366876] Re: Xorg freeze
... well, I would post an attachment, if Launchpad didn't appear to
crash out on my when I do (Chrome or Firefox browsers. I'll preserve
the crash dump and try again later. Meanwhile, below is what's in
syslog for the crash, and:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version

Title:
Xorg freeze
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Desktop display freezes temporarily, for (approx) 20s or so, approx
once a day, with mouse pointer still working. After that it comes
back and resumes as normal, seemingly replaying mouse and keyboard
events from the meantime. I think it's always happened when using
Google Chrome (Stable - currently 37.0.2062.94, but I think other
recent versions). The desktop is completely unresponsive
This didn't seem to happen until a few weeks ago. I tend to pull
updates fairly regularly.
In syslog there is:
kernel: [277415.130771] [drm] stuck on render ring
I suspect this is a dupe since I see other related bugs, but you'd be
better placed to decide that than I.
