Re: [Bug 1382789] Re: If I plug a second monitor into my laptop while its sleeping, and then wake it up, the lock screen freezes
Hello,
I have since upgraded to 14.10, so I am not sure if any tests I could do
would be of relevance anymore. Let me know though.

Title:
If I plug a second monitor into my laptop while its sleeping, and then
wake it up, the lock screen freezes
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I find sometimes that if I plug in my monitor into my laptop (via an
HDMI port, and and then HDMI to DVI connector) the monitor doesn't
seem to be recognized by ubuntu and no image displays on it. I have
gotten around this issue by having my laptop go to sleep and then
plugging it in then, at which point I could wake it up and things
would generally work. It seems lately though that the lock screen is
just frozen upon waking up (though not always, I can't seem to notice
any pattern or triggers), and therefore I usually have to restart X.
What I expect to happen is to be able to plug in my secondary monitor
at any point, at the lock screen, when at the desktop, or when the
laptop is closed or asleep, and then just have it recgonized and work
without needing to reboot or restart the display server.
