[Bug 1434799] Re: Lightdm will not start after latest 15.04 updates, works with upstart
** Description changed:
- lightdm fails to start on several Lenovo thinkpads (X240, X201, X300...)
- after the latest round of 15.04 beta updates on 20/03/15. The system
- boots into low graphics mode, but the only working option from this is
- the console login.
+ lightdm fails to start on several Lenovo thinkpads (X240, X201, X300,
+ T410...) after the latest round of 15.04 beta updates on 20/03/15. The
+ system boots into low graphics mode, but the only working option from
+ this is the console login.
If the laptops are started using upstart from the "advanced" boot
options, lightdm starts as normal on all the affected laptops.
All had been working with systemd running 15.04 beta after earlier
upgrades from 14.10 before yesterday's updates.
A Thinkpad T430s is still starting lightdm as normal (i.e. with a
systemd startup) after the updates.
+
+ gdm will start up OK on the affected machines under systemd.
