[Bug 1313654] Re: Left click does not work from time to time

I have a set of plantronics Blackwire C420-m headphones with mute,
volume up and volume down phizical buttons. This is a USB headset. When
I press any of the buttons the problem reporduces. I changed the
headphones since I suspected it is a crappy USB driver for the
headphones simulating a mouse click or something but after I removed
this headphones and used some headphones on a Jack connector the rpoblem
still appeared.

I also suspected the HUD was interferring with Guake (I run it in
fullscreen with Shift+alt+J shortcut) and somethimes I tap alt before
the rest or after the rest of the keys and the HUD opens and gets the
focus instead of Guake. I removed the HUD shortcut key (even if I
consider it a cool feature :P ) but the problem still persists!

Today the clock in the upper right dissapeared. It is the third time
this happens. I don't know if this is related.

Sometimes when this happens I either run "unity --replace" in a terminal
and leave it open or swith (terminals I think) with Alt + Control + F1
-> Alt + Control + F7. But this works for a few minutes and the problem
comes back. Usually a restart fixes this issue for more time.

Title:
Left click does not work from time to time

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Hi, from times to times the left click does not work anymore and
applications do not get focus. I changed the mouse from the Microsfot
mouse I have to a Logitech and it still happened. I have this issue on
LinuxMint 16 also so I don't think it's Unity. If I restart lightdm or
X.org server it works for some time and the it happenes again.

How can I troubleshoot this further? Maybe there is an app that grabs
focus or something and it isn't a Ubuntu bug. Do you have a better
workaround until this gets fixed? Restarting lightdm is not very
  plesant.
