  Cookie/Session-protected downloads fail

Bug description:
  I don't have an obvious example, but whenever a download requires
  authentication, the download via u-d-m fails, likely because only the
  URL is handed over from the browser to the manager.

  We'd probably need API to also pass cookies over.
