[Bug 1328146] Re: Screen stays off after upgrade to Image #71 on N5
Yes. There was an issue with the way powerd or something was managing
brightness versus screen state, compared to how android does it, and the
issue has been fixed now.
** Changed in: unity8 (Ubuntu)
Status: Incomplete => Fix Released

Title:
Screen stays off after upgrade to Image #71 on N5
Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
On my Nexus 5, after the upgrade to image #71, the screen will very
reliably not come back on, when on battery power. Leaving the phone
plugged in to USB will result in the issue recurring significantly
less often. After unplugging though, the screen will refuse to come
back on, in as few as one attempt. Occasionally, continually pressing
the power button again and again, will result in a flash of light from
the screen and being able to use the phone again… until the screen
powers off again.
This never happened on image #50 (the previous promoted image), and
the screen worked completely reliably in that build.
