  No persistent property for current screen status in
  com.canonical.Unity.Screen

Status in Unity System Compositor:
  New
Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Unity8 needs to know the current screen status is when it starts.
  Currently we only get the screen status changes (Off/On).

  If unity8 starts when the screen is off, it takes we need to cycle the
  state a few times to get the screen to come back on. This is because
  u8 defaults the status to "On".
