Title:
vala toys plugin gedit crashed with SIGSEGV in __find_specmb()

Status in eglibc package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Happens all the time.
  Running 12.10 quantal
  gedit 3.4.2

It occurs when opening a vala file. Other files are ok.
The problem is the vala toys plugin, I think. If it disable that, the file will open.

  I have plugins:
  vala toys
  valencia
  spell checker
  sort
  session saver
  character map
