this mean bug in
volume_set_software_mute() since software_mute=Y and still have ec console

you have to file upstream ThinkPad acpi bug report

  Since upgrade to 15.04 from 14.10, the physical volume keys (mute, up,
  down) on my ThinkPad X60 have no effect. I can adjust the volume via
  the menubar indicator, but the buttons are dead.
