I can't reproduce this and nobody has responded to my inquiry about
whether this can be reproduces anymore on newer versions of Ubuntu.  I'm
going to mark this Fix Released.  If it does indeed still occur, then we
can either reopen this bug report or open a new one.

  Dash loses focus when navigating via keyboard

Bug description:
  Sometimes focus is lost when navigating the dash via the keyboard.

  Press super to open dash
  Type "up" to search for "Software Updater"
  Use arrow keys to navigate down into the dash results.

  Sometimes the highlight disappears and its impossible to tell what's
  highlighted. Also escape doesn't work to clear the search term or
  close the dash leading me to believe the dash has lost focus entirely.

  Here's a video showing it. Note at ~32 seconds I mistakenly say "mouse
  cursor" when I mean "highlight". Not had coffee yet.
