[Bug 1454129] Re: package linux-image-3.13.0-51-generic 3.13.0-51.84 failed to install/upgrade: run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/initramfs-tools exited with return code 127
>From DpkgTerminalLog.txt:
update-initramfs: deferring update (hook will be called later)
The link /initrd.img is a dangling linkto /boot/initrd.img-3.13.0-51-generic
vmlinuz(/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-51-generic
) points to /boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-51-generic
(/boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-51-generic) -- doing nothing at /var/lib/dpkg/info/linux-image-3.13.0-51-generic.postinst line 491.
Examining /etc/kernel/postinst.d.

run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/postinst.d/dkms 3.13.0-51-generic /boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-51-generic
run-parts: executing /etc/kernel/postinst.d/initramfs-tools 3.13.0-51-generic /boot/vmlinuz-3.13.0-51-generic
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-3.13.0-51-generic
/usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/console_setup: 5: /etc/default/console-setup: here: not found
E: /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/console_setup failed with return 127.
update-initramfs: failed for /boot/initrd.img-3.13.0-51-generic with 127.
run-parts: /etc/kernel/postinst.d/initramfs-tools exited with return code 127
It looks like something is wrong with your /etc/default/console-setup
file. What is the md5sum of /etc/default/console-setup?
I suspect something got uncommented that should not have been.
