Fixed as part of the Qt port. Was caused by unsafe implicit conversion
and comparison between GBOOLEAN and C++ bool.

Bug description:
  some tests are constantly failing on powerpc while passing reliably on
  all of the other arches. Need to investigate what is the root cause of
  this.
