Title:
Super+Space can not be used for switching keyboard layouts
Status in ibus package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Keyboard indicator does not respond to Super+Space, the default
shortcut for switching to "next source".
Release: 13.10
Package indicator-keyboard version 0.0.0+13.10.20131010.1-0ubuntu1
I have two layouts: English (Macintosh) and Hebrew. When pressing
Super+Space, I was expecting to switch back and forth between the two.
Super+Space is the default short cut.
When I press Super+Space, the Dash is inovked (as I guess Super itself
will trigger in any case).
When I change the setting for "Switch to previous source" as
Alt+Super+Space, I can switch layouts. This is not set by default,
AFAIK.
NOTES:
It is significantly more difficult for users to work out where to
setup keyboard options now. AFAIK, i-bus is responsible for layout
switching, though xkb is set for anything else? Though some of the old
options are availabe now under "Shortcuts" setting, ie Compose etc.,
not everything is available. For example, remaping Caps-Lock etc.
Also, there's a duplication in setting switch to next source, which
can be mapped in Settings -> Text Entry, and Settings -> Keyboard ->
Shortcuts
