As pointed above, this should be fixed by 7.32 and above. Still affects
precise though which ships older..

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: curl

  Some programs, such as unrealircd, require that libcurl be built with
  c-ares support. Otherwise, libcurl cannot act asynchronously and will
  cause the client program to hang while curl tries to resolve
  hostnames.
