Title:
Server 14.04.1 hangs on reboot or poweroff when NFS trying to unmount
Status in sysvinit package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Hello and thank you for your time on this!
I am testing KVM + libvirt on Ubuntu Server 14.04.1 and need to access
lots of ISO files and raw images from a FreeBSD 10.0 NFS server.
Using virt-manager to setup a new NFS storage works well, but when I
try to reboot or power off the testing host, it hangs near
"stoping system V runtime compatibility"
for a very long time. I can not tell if the [OK] in the end of the
line belongs to it or other upstart stop "task", as the frame buffer
implies a very long line on my monitor.
Some times the machine issue some text about "rpcbind -w", but I can
not entirely read it, as in that case it reboots or poweroff.
Setting up the NFS mount by hand (/etc/fstab) and telling libvirt to
use the mounted directory leads to the same problem.
Trying to ping the host machine from the NFS server does not work
while it is trying to reboot.
I am new to Ubuntu Server log ecosystem and can not find useful
information about it (may be the log facilities are down when the
problem occurs).
I strictly followed
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SettingUpNFSHowTo#NFS_Client
and
https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/network-file-system.html
to setup the NFS client.
Once more, thank you for your time!
