In addition to causing crashes when opening the Window menu, it also can
cause "reset perspective" to crash.

This only occurs under Ubuntu, and seems related to Ubuntu's menuproxy
feature (the thing where it moves the menus to the top of the screen).

In case anyone missed it, I've attached an SWT-only code snippet that
demonstrates the crash in about a page of code.

Bug description:
  Running smartgit 4.6.4 on 13.10 64 bits. After registering the
  product, smartgit crash when trying to open a new repository. Java
  error log :

  I tried different version of Java (Oracle v7 and v6 jre) with same
  result. Also, Eclipse display blank menus so there's a general java
  problem with displays.
