[Bug 1332233] Re: [ASUS S400CA, VT1802 , recording] Support of Headset Mic not implemented

I just pulled out that laptop, and this is definitely still an issue. I
guess I let it lapse because I got a new laptop where this all works
just fine.

Title:
[ASUS S400CA,VT1802 , recording] Support of Headset Mic not
  implemented

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I opened a thread in the forums first. For reference:
  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2230136&p=13052352

The basic issue is that I got a new Asus S400CA laptop. It has a combo
jack for headphones/mic (like phones do now). With Windows 8, the
headset worked fine (both input and output through the one jack). With
Ubuntu 14.04 it works for output, but not for input.
