Message #97472
[Bug 1483752] Re: Trusted prompts make application inactive: Qt.application.active == false
just an update, we are currently reviewing and testing the MirSurface branches for unity8/unity-api/qtmir.
A silo is being readied for team testing.
This is the correct way to address the issue, however the change is larger than we would like for this late in the OTA prep cycle.
The good news is that these branches have been around a while so there is a fair amount of engineering testing that has happened during devel.

Title:
Trusted prompts make application inactive: Qt.application.active ==
false
Status in Canonical System Image:
In Progress
Status in unity8 package in Ubuntu:
In Progress
Bug description:
When a trusted prompt shows up the application becomes "inactive",
concretely QML applications receive a signal that
Qt.application.active has changed to 'false'.
This is will be an issue for example in the case of the camera-app
trying to start recording a video, a pulseaudio trusted prompt will
show up to ask for permission to record from the microphone but the
camera-app believing that it's become inactive will immediately stop
the recording.
