Re: Amazon Elastic Map Reduce / also OData

Hi,

One more thing I forgot to mention. One of our engineers suggests that trying to run it on EMR might be easier once we migrate the transaction engine to coprocessors and HBase 0.98. That work is in progress now. (At the moment, we are on HBase 0.94.)

Hi,

Glad to hear of your interest in Trafodion. Would be delighted to help you!

No-one has tested Trafodion on Amazon EMR so far as we know. I imagine that the best way to do that would be to run Trafodion on EMR itself.

There's no OData support at the moment, and nothing in plan for it. I don't see any architectural obstacles that would prevent it though. If someone were interested in creating that, we would of course welcome that.

Subject: [Trafodion-general] Amazon Elastic Map Reduce / also OData

Hi,

New to Trafodion - very interesting concept.

It looks like Hbase can run on Amazon Elastic Map Reduce. Would it be possible to run Trafodion on top of this? Would Trafodion live in Amazon EMR, or just virtual hosts calling the Hbase on EMR? Has anyone done this?

Also, from your documentation it appears that you support ODBC. Has anyone ever put an OData interface on top? Such as Microsoft Entity Framework with Odata services? Would this be possible?

Thanks!!

Chris
